Time flies… here we are on the third issue of Clinics in Podiatric Medicine and Surgery in 2018. Biologics have been a special interest of mine for most of my career. This started with demineralized bone matrixes (DBMs) in the 1990s and then moved onto bone morphogenic proteins (BMPs) in the 2000s, and now we have mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) and bone marrow aspirates (BMAs), which essentially convert bone allograft products into bone autograft equivalents.
