The future of Infectious Disease: Management and Prevention of Decay?

A brief missive: I was thinking as I posted yesterday’s story about a potential microbacterial link to colon cancer that this is perhaps the next frontier for infectious disease (ID) specialists and microbiologists. As we begin better managing infectious diseases as an entity, I think we will likely need people to explore and treat infectious diseases as etiologic agents of other diseases (see gastric ulcers, gingivitis, etc).
